Paul Corbett

Paul is a highly respected turn around manager with significant MBO and business investment experience. He is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and has operated and advised UK and international organisations, primarily in manufacturing industries.

As MD he has successfully grown businesses and funded expansions through private equity investment. In addition to defining and delivering growth he has significant experience of delivering shareholder value through successful company sales to trade buyers. Paul is highly experienced in managing the sometimes disparate needs of individual shareholder groups. He has outstanding experience in controlling finance for daily operations and investment for growth.

As a director in Carr-Michael, Paul leads our services in business turn around, and the raising of investment funds with private investors, and VCs. He is also non executive director of Core Enterprise Management Limited.

In addition to his CIMA qualification, Paul has an MBA from Warwick University and is recognised as a leader with exceptional strategic and operational skills.


Simon Wheatley

Simon is a highly respected specialist in the formulation and successful execution of change plans in both the SME sector and within larger group structures. He holds an MBA from Warwick University Business School to match his practical hands on experience.

At age 31, he ran a £30m division of the NASDAQ traded technology company, GSI Lumonics.  He became Group CEO at Bradman Lake Ltd, a packaging equipment business, where he led its successful business transformation prior to its sale in 2007.  He is now an active investor in businesses and has key skills in turning around distressed businesses.  He recently supported a fast paced but controlled significant turnaround in the UK Office Stationery manufacturing sector.

A great communicator and business enthusiast, Simon has significant expertise in the management of profitable change in organizations in the £10-£50m turnover range. He combines clear strategic thinking with the focus and personality to deliver change on the ground.  Simon has twenty year's experience driving and delivering profitable growth.

Simon is married with two young children, is a keen skier and sailor


Bill Conn

Bill Conn, is an experienced operational practitioner with a degree in Business Administration and post graduate qualifications from Cranfield and INSEAD. 

Bill started his career in British Aerospace where he developed his operational and change management skills whilst progressing through the management structure. His experience further developed through his roles in other “blue chip” companies such as Rolls Royce, Siemens and Alstom where he was responsible for manufacturing plants in four countries across Europe.

In 2004 Bill moved into the SME sector and most recently operated as CEO of the security and surveillance company, Petards Group PLC, listed on the AIM market, developing and selling products worldwide. He still remains on the Board as a non-executive director.


Kevin Baker

Kevin Baker is a highly accomplished Managing Director with proven ability in a diverse range of Operational environments from FMCG to state of the art high technology capital goods. He holds a degree in Metallurgy from Sheffield University and several post graduate vocational qualifications.

In his career to date, Kevin has led several significant change projects in all the main operational departments, from supply chain through design engineering all the way to After Market and Customer Support. A huge proponent of lean manufacturing, his success has resolved around improving efficiency and maximising value added.

Kevin's key skills are in quickly identifying, developing and leading business development programmes that deliver significant and sustainable improvements in both new and mature business environments.
