Andrew Lester
Andrew is a founding partner of Carr-Michael. He has worked in a variety of sectors and has headed the UK operations of two car manufacturers. He was head of Jaguar Cars Ltd UK from 1996-2001, successfully leading the transition of the company. He has worked extensively in the UK, USA & Europe. He has been a director of private and public companies in the logistics, component supply and high street retail sectors. He is Chairman of Carr-Michael Consulting Ltd, and company secretary of Design Odyssey Ltd.
Andrew has over six years experience as a consultant specialising in delivering sustainable growth. His book "Growth Management: Two Hats are Better than One" has recently been published by Macmillan.
Andrew has a degree in Business Strategy and Marketing and has qualifications from INSEAD and Duke University USA.
Paul Corbett
Paul is a highly respected turn around manager with significant MBO and business investment experience. He is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and has operated and advised UK and international organisations, primarily in manufacturing industries.
As MD he has successfully grown businesses and funded expansions through private equity investment. In addition to defining and delivering growth he has significant experience of delivering shareholder value through successful company sales to trade buyers. Paul is highly experienced in managing the sometimes disparate needs of individual shareholder groups. He has outstanding experience in controlling finance for daily operations and investment for growth.
As a partner in Carr-Michael, Paul leads our services in business turn around, and the raising of investment funds with private investors, and VCs. He is also non executive director of Core Enterprise Management Limited.
In addition to his CIMA qualification, Paul has an MBA from Warwick University and is recognised as a leader with exceptional strategic and operational skills.
Simon Wheatley
Simon is a highly respected specialist in the formulation and successful execution of change plans in both the SME sector and within larger group structures. He holds an MBA from Warwick University Business School to match his practical hands on experience.
At age 31, he ran a £30m division of the NASDAQ traded technology company, GSI Lumonics. He became Group CEO at Bradman Lake Ltd, a packaging equipment business, where he led its successful business transformation prior to its sale in 2007. He is now an active investor in businesses and has key skills in turning around distressed businesses. He recently supported a fast paced but controlled significant turnaround in the UK Office Stationery manufacturing sector.
A great communicator and business enthusiast, Simon has significant expertise in the management of profitable change in organizations in the £10-£50m turnover range. He combines clear strategic thinking with the focus and personality to deliver change on the ground. Simon has twenty year's experience driving and delivering profitable growth.
